Mary Coady

Project Director

        * Supervise the overall operation of Student Support Services. 
        * Identify, select, and assign participants to advisors.
        * Monitor successful completion of program goals and objectives.
        * Draft reports and grant proposals.
        * Oversee disbursement of the budget.
        * Coordinate activities with other UW-L offices and departments.
        * Disseminate information about the program, its eligibility requirements, and services.


Barb Chandler

Office Manager

* Coordinate the front office operations and support staff.
* Coordinate student hiring, training, supervision, and payroll.
* Arrange accommodations for participants needing note taking, tutoring or testing services.
* Assist director with budget and data management.
* Prepare grant and federal documents.
* Coordinate preparation and maintenance of newsletter and web pages.

Nick Jakusz

Mathematics Specialist

* Maintain hours for assisting students with Mathematics courses, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Conduct individual tutoring sessions for Math 050, Math 051, and all 100 and some 200 level Math Courses.
* Assist students with terminology, calculator use, and formula usage
* Develop and organize workshops to assist students in improving their collegiate and academic careers
* Maintain necessary student records

English Peer Tutors

* Conduct individual tutoring sessions for English 050, English 110, all English 200 level courses, and Communications  110.
* Assist participants with test taking, essay writing, study skills, and time management.
* Maintain hours for assisting students with writing needs, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Maintain necessary student records


Math Peer Tutors


* Conduct individual tutoring sessions for Math 050, Math 051, and all 100 and some 200 level Math Courses.
* Assist students with terminology, calculator use, and formula usage. 
* Maintain hours for assisting students with Math needs, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Maintain necessary student records.


Science Peer Tutors


* Conduct individual tutoring sessions for Biology 103/105 & 312/313, Chemistry 103/104, and Physics 103/104.
* Assist students in understanding terminology, definitions, and concepts.
* Maintain hours for assisting students with Science needs, especially participants with limited proficiency in English, students with disabilities, multicultural students and returning adults.
* Maintain necessary student records.


General Peer Tutors

* Students may request tutors in other subjects by contacting their SSS advisor.  These peer tutors will be available on an as needed basis
 * Maintain necessary student records
