    New Student Center

The New Student Center Coming in 2016

    A Note from Our Director

Welcome to University Centers! This is a time of many changes within Cartwright Center. Primarily, the countdown is beginning! UW-La Crosse students approved the funding for a new student center, and construction is planned to begin in late spring or early summer of 2014. The new facility will provide a building that all members of the UW-La Crosse community can be proud of. In the meantime, we will continue to offer programs and services to students through Cartwright and Whitney Centers.

University Centers offers numerous opportunities for students on campus, including:

Working on student issues through student government; developing campus programming through the Campus Activities Board; working with the Pride Center to gain a greater understanding and value of diversity, including LGBTIQQAA student concerns; developing leadership skills and helping create a sense of community by joining a fraternity, sorority or other student organization.

Joining and assuming a leadership position in one of over 185 student organizations including departmental/professional societies, honor and recognition societies, human diversity organizations, spiritual organizations, services organizations, social fraternities and sororities, social activism organizations, special interest organizations, and club sports. Involvement with student organizations is made easier through the MyOrgs program. Check this out at: MyOrgs.

Attending events on campus: See the Campus Calendar at: https://mastercalendar.uwlax.edu/mastercalendar.aspx.

Our university dining program provides a significant impact on student life. The dining program provides flexibility for our students, allowing them to eat in many areas on campus. We appreciate your comments and suggestions as we attempt to make the UW-La Crosse dining program the best in the Midwest.

I encourage you to explore the many opportunities available to you through University Centers
Being involved on campus or in the community can help you meet people, develop leadership
skills, and gain rewarding experiences while devoting time to your personal and professional
interests. I want to invite everyone to engage in life at UW-La Crosse, both in the classroom and
    outside the classroom.
