During the fall of 2013, our office was tasked with completing a strategic plan, which would provide a clear vision for the direction and development of the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community and office. We started by building a committee of stakeholders, representing current and alumni members of our FSL community, organization advisers, faculty, and staff. This allowed us to have multiple perspectives and experiences at the table. Our process consisted of conducting research of peer institutions and best practice campuses, along with conducting a series of focus groups at UW-L for FSL members, FSL alumni, faculty and staff, and unaffiliated students on campus. Our committee analyzed our findings, discussed our priorities, and developed a series of recommendations based on the pillars of our community. We encourage you to review our findings and recommendations. Our goal is to share our findings with as many people as possible. We want to educate others about the direction of our community, and ask for your help. We believe that everyone has a role to play in the future of our community. We hope that you will push us, challenge us, and help hold us accountable for putting this plan into action. We look forward to creating a stronger, positive experience for our members and community here at UW-L!
