Alcohol Diversion Program

This program is designed to create an alternative to an underage alcohol citation and be in lieu of court imposed penalties/record. However, there will be a local record at UW-La Crosse Police Department of your participation in the Alcohol Diversion Program.
 

Requirements of the Alcohol Diversion Program

  1. This must be the first documented alcohol contact with the UW-La Cross Police Department.
  2. You must be willing to accept responsibility for personal actions and be willing to learn from potentially at risk behavior.
  3. Must be between 17-20 years old.
 

This Completion of the Alcohol Diversion Program

  1. You must pay a $65 administration fee. The fee must be paid in person and in cash at the time of registration at the UW La Crosse Police Department offices located at 525 East Ave N, La Crosse WI 54601. Once submitted, you will not receive a refund of the administration fee.
  1. You MUST ATTEND the UWLPDs alcohol at risk behavior class on May 9, July 11, August 22, September 12, September 26, October 10, October 17, November 7th, December 19, January 30, 2013.  The class starts at 6:00 pm in the Police Services Building (17th & Farwell St).
  1. You must complete a 2 page impact paper prior to arrival to the on the consequences of your high risk alcohol use as it relates to your specific incident. Please explore how your actions and how these consequences could impact your life now and in the future; ie financial, legally, future employment, relationships ect. The paper must be double spaced with a font no larger than 12. The paper must be received on the scheduled class date and turned in to the officers.

Marijuana Diversion Program

This program is designed to create an alternative to being arrested for possession of  marijuana and be in lieu of court imposed penalties/record. However, there will be a local record at UW-La Crosse Police Department of your participation in the Marijuana Diversion Program.

Requirements of the Marijuana Diversion Program

  1. This must be the first documented alcohol contact with the UW-La Cross Police Department.
  2. You must be willing to accept responsibility for personal actions and be willing to learn from potentially at risk behavior.
  3. Must be between 17-20 years old.

This Completion of the Marijuana Diversion Program

  1. You must pay a $100 administration fee. The fee must be paid in person and in cash at the time of registration at the UW La Crosse Police Department offices located at 525 East Ave N, La Crosse WI 54601. Once submitted, you will not receive a refund of the administration fee.
  1. You must meet with a Department representative to discuss your contact with UWLPD.
  1. You must complete a 2 page impact paper prior to arrival to the on the consequences of your high risk alcohol use as it relates to your specific incident. Please explore how your actions and how these consequences could impact your life now and in the future; ie financial, legally, future employment, relationships ect. The paper must be double spaced with a font no larger than 12. The paper must be received on the scheduled class date and turned in to the officers.
  2. No further drug offenses for 180 days from this original contact.
