Recruiting Operations Officer
Mr. Nelson assumed the duties of
the Recruiting Operations
Officer as a contractor in
October 2009.
Prior to this position he
operated, full-time, a small
retail business which he still
owns.
From 2003-2007 he was
mobilized at Fort McCoy with the
181st Infantry
Brigade for Operation Noble
Eagle and Enduring Freedom,
where he served as a Trainer and
as the Brigade Headquarters
Company Commander. His other
assignments include the
following: Observer/Controller
Trainer for the 1-338th
Regiment, 85th
Training Division; Operations
Officer for the 2-338th
Regiment, 85th
Training Division; OIC of the
Chemical Team for the 2-338th
Regiment, 85th
Training Division; Company
Commander for the 3-339th
Regiment, 84th
Division (IT); and Executive
Officer for the 3-339th
Regiment, 84th
Division (IT).
Mr. Nelson received his
commission as a Chemical Corps
officer in 1991 after completing
the Reserve Officer Training
Course (ROTC) at the University
of Wisconsin–La Crosse. His
military education also includes
the Chemical Officer Basic
Course, Transportation Officer
Advanced Course, and the Reserve
Component Theater Sustainment
Course. In addition, he is a
graduate of the Combined Armed
Services Staff School and the
Command and General Staff
College (ILE).
His awards and decorations
include the Meritorious Service
Medal, Army Commendation Medal,
Army Achievement Medal (with
five oak leaf clusters), Army
Reserve Components Achievement
Medal (with two oak leaf
clusters), National Defense
Service Medal with bronze star,
Global War on Terror Service
Medal, Armed Forces Reserve
Medal
(with Hourglass, M device and
numeral 2),
Army Service Ribbon.
Mr. Nelson received a Bachelor
of Science degree in
Microbiology from the University
of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
