Eagle Battalion Operations Fall & Spring
Fall
Fall FTX-
This event is a 3 day field training exercise held at Fort McCoy. Cadets
gain valuable experience by familiarizing themselves with basic
and advanced land navigation techniques, marksmanship experience
with hands on training at the range, and team building exercises
through the completion of the Fort McCoy obstacle course.
APFT- All cadets take multiple APFT’s (Army Physical Fitness Test) throughout the year. An APFT consists of 3 events which are all timed. The first event is push-ups the second event is sit-ups, and the last event is a 2 mile run. You must score 60 points in each event to successfully pass the APFT.
Ranger Challenge Competition-
Ranger Challenge consists of competing teams from
different schools that tests cadets physical fitness and
military knowledge. To prepare for this event cadets on the
ranger challenge team train in additional events such as. Rope
Bridge, Obstacle Course, HWMMV Pull, Weapons
Assembly/Disassembly,10K Forced Road March, and much more.
Fall Awards Ceremony-
This ceremony is held once a semester. It is to recognize cadets who have
demonstrated technical and tactical proficiency throughout the
semester. Cadets are encouraged to invite family and friends to
the award ceremony to celebrate their own and other cadets
accomplishments.
Military Ball- The military ball is a formal event with a special guest speaker. Cadets are encouraged to bring family or friends to the ball. It consist of a cocktail hour, formal dinner, and dancing. The military ball is held once a year.
Commissioning- Commissioning
occurs once per semester.
Cadets who have graduated commission into the army with
the rank of second lieutenant. This is a formal military event
that consist of three parts. The oath of office followed by the
pinning of the bars ceremony and the first salute rendered
by an NCO. Cadets, family, and friends are encouraged to attend
the ceremony.
Spring
Dining-In- Dining In is
a social event to build unit camaraderie while maintaining all
military traditions of a Dining In.
This is a formal military event but only Cadets can
attend.
Squad STX-
This event is a 1 day event held out
at Fort McCoy. This field exercise is designed to introduce
MSIs & MSIIs to the fundamentals of squad size tactical operations,while providing senior leadership opportunities to increase
confidence and skills in tactical squad operations.
CFTX- This field exercise is only
for MS IIIs. It’s a 3 day practical exercise consisting of day &
night land navigation and STX lanes. The purpose of this
operation is to prepare MSIIIs for Warrior Forge.
Section STX- This field
exercise is designed to increase the confidence in our MS IIIs
in tactical section level operations and TLPs, while introducing
our MS I and MS IIs to the fundamentals of section level
patrolling operations
