Elevating Success: Summiting Excellence

We invite proposals for the following types of presentations for the 2025 WAGS Annual Conference:

  • Poster Presentation
  • Talk Presentation, 45 min. including Q&A
  • Talk Presentation, 60 min. including Q&A

Please consider these topics when submitting your proposal:

  • Alternative Pathways and Futures for the Humanities: The role of virtual reality, augmented reality, and speculative technologies in graduate education, rethinking the humanities Ph.D.
  • Research Futures: Distinguished Graduate Research Program and successful partnerships with industry.
  • Educating Educators for the Future: What does the future need from teachers and how do we prepare them for that today?
  • Career Readiness and Post-doc Pipeline Models: Successful models of integrating career readiness in graduate education.
  • The Future of Admissions and Financial Aid in an Unbundled World: How do our policies and requirements need to change from serving the “industrial era” model to serving the “knowledge era” model of higher education?
  • Housing and Food Insecurity: dismantling barriers to improve student success.
  • Student Mental Health and Well-being: Supporting the whole student and educating strategies for succeeding in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world.
  • Collaborative Opportunities to Provide Educational Continuity in a Changing Social and Environmental Climate: State and regional university partnerships.
  • Successful Models of Student Advocacy
  • Mentoring support for faculty and students: providing faculty with the tools and skills to best support student success in graduate school and beyond.
  • Artificial Intelligence: How is/will AI impact graduate education moving forward. How to best incorporate AI into graduate education and support students to understand the use of AI.
  • Innovations in Graduate Education: Cutting edge/forward-thinking ideas to ensure the success of graduate education into the future.
  • DEI: the impact of recent changes to DEI and how to best support graduate students through tumultuous times/create a sense of belonging on campus.

Proposal Requirements

  1. All proposals must be submitted online using the Call for Proposals Submission Form.
    • The deadline for submission of proposals is December 22, 2024.
    • Notiļ¬cations of acceptance will be sent by January 15, 2025.
  2. Corporate entities cannot present on their own; they must partner with a higher education institution.
  3. When completing the online proposal form, please provide the following information:
    • Presenter(s) information: name, title, university or sponsor affiliation, phone number, and email.
    • Presentation information: Title of session, abstract of 250 words maximum, and 2–4 keywords that describe the content of the presentation.
