^ From 1909-1951, there was a Vice President position. In 1952 the position was renamed the Dean of the College followed by Vice President for Academic Affairs starting in 1964. With the University of Wisconsin and Wisconsin State University merger in 1971, the title changed from "Vice President" to "Vice Chancellor." The term "Provost" was added in the early 1990s. Names in italics served as interim vice chancellors. |
