Pedagogical Knowledge
Education teacher candidates are expected to document knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary for teacher certification relative to the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) standards. The comprehensive education Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) is one of multiple measurement tools used within the Department's assessment system to evaluate candidate progress.
During each field and student teaching experience, a performance assessment is completed. The following documents comprise each performance assessment:
- Standards in Practice (SIP) form
- Supervisor and cooperating teacher observation notes
- edTPA-like tasks (field courses) or completed edTPA (student teaching)
