A track record of success

UWL offers one of the most competitive, in-depth and hands-on athletic training programs in the country. Our students benefit from clinical experiences in college athletics, local high schools and clinics, and immersive experiences across the US.

Over the last three years, our students' successes speak for themselves:

  • First time pass rate on the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer exam = 93%
  • Overall pass rate = 100%
  • Job placement (within 6 months of graduation) = 100%

UWL's program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). We are also one of 22 US academic institutions to partner with the World Federation of Athletic Training & Therapy.

More information can be found on the CAATE Program Information and Outcome Page.

Choose your path

The UWL Athletic Training Graduate Program can be completed as a stand-alone MS in 2 years following completion of an undergraduate degree.

We also offer a Dual Degree option. It combines the UWL undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and the MS in Athletic Training in a total of 5 years.

Preparing Wisconsin for the future

The Department of Exercise and Sport Science houses the athletic training program and values diversity in our faculty and student body. We are engaged in sincere efforts to be a leader in Wisconsin’s movement toward increased diversity and inclusiveness.
