ELECTROMYOGRAPHY (EMG)

Below is a typical interference pattern obtained with EMG measurements. Data is analyzed by determining the peak or average amplitude relative to a normalized contraction (75% - 100% maximum voluntary isometric contraction or MVIC) to determine the relative amount of muscle activity. Timing of muscle on/off patterns also provide useful information on the sequence of muscle activity during movement performance.

Clinical and research uses of EMG 

EMG is commonly used as a form of biofeedback for patients and to determine the kinesiological function of muscle during movement. It is sometimes used in conjunction with Motion Analysis, Force or Pressure Distribution Measurements to provide more information.
