Social Justice Week 2025

We are thrilled to announce that submissions for Social Justice Week 2025 (SJW2025) are now open! This year’s theme, “Navigating New Horizons: Mapping Future Action,” invites our campus to engage in transformative conversations and actions to foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. The event will include workshops, speaker series, and processing spaces, connecting with key campus partners. Together, we will map a renewed vision for the future, rooted in UWL's history and forward-thinking approach to equity and inclusion. 


Theme abstract 
As UW-La Crosse navigates its ongoing transformation with new leadership and strategic planning, Social Justice Week 2025 will embody the institution's core mission of fostering diversity, equity and inclusive excellence. Grounded in the principles of the Wisconsin Idea and UWL’s mission, vision and values, the event will explore how we can build a future of belonging and collective action. Under this year’s theme, we aim to provide a space for critical dialogue, education and action. By integrating UWL’s emphasis on lifelong learning, collaboration, and the search for knowledge and truth, SJW2025 will inspire participants to engage in practices that reflect our shared commitment to improving the human condition.  


Submission details 
We invite proposals for workshops, panels, presentations and events. The submission deadline is Friday, March 7 with extensions available upon request (please email the Programming Committee if needed). Submit your proposal here
