Panel: Talking Tariffs and Trade

Join us for an insightful discussion as UW-La Crosse hosts Talking Tariffs and Trade, a panel discussion exploring one of today’s most important economic topics. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 16th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in Skogen Auditorium (1400 Centennial Hall). A brief presentation on the fundamentals of tariffs and trade will set the stage for a lively and informative conversation featuring a panel of expert voices: Sheida Teimouri, Associate Professor of Economics; Nabamita Dutta, Professor of Economics; Adam Stivers, Associate Professor of Finance; Hugo Vaca Pereira Rocha, Assistant Professor of Economics; and Nicholas McFaden, Economics Researcher.

The discussion will unpack the real-world implications of proposed tariffs and offer expert perspectives on their economic and financial impacts. Audience questions will be encouraged. This event is free and open to the public, welcoming both students and community members interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the issues shaping today’s trade policy headlines.
