April Public Planetarium Program

"Ancient Observatories"

"Ancient Observatories"
A talk on the current evening sky, followed by a multimedia audiovisual presentation.
Sites like Stonehenge (England), Chichen Itza (Mexico), Medicine Wheel (Wyoming), and places like them around the world are described. They vary from places that had simple methods of making astronomical observations before telescopes came along in the early 1600s to those more complex.
It is the last of the monthly Public Programs for the 2024-25 School Year.
$8 Adults $5 Students and Seniors
Park in the Stadium Lot (Commuter Lot 2 or C-2). It is on the northeast corner of East Avenue and Pine Street. Commuter (C) lots are NOT enforced on weekends, so you do NOT need to use the Passport Parking phone app. If the Stadium Lot is full due to a track meet, park in the Cleary Center Lot (Commuter Lot 12/C-12) on the northwest corner of East Avenue and Farwell Street, or in the Parking Ramp on the north side of Farwell Street between 16th and 17th Streets.
