Integration of The Discussions Project into UWL Classroom Space

Instructors selected to participate in the UWL version of The Discussion Project at UWL can elect to participate in an additional two days with CATL on May 23 and May 24 9am-4pm (break for lunch on your own). During these additional two days, instructors will enhance discussion in their own classroom space as well as enrich the UWL campus with resources for other instructors to integration discussion and dialogue into classes.

  • Your Project: Complete an activity related to TDP training for implementation into one of your fall 2024 courses (create lesson plans, rewrite assignment directions, etc.); CATL staff will help refine the activity and offer support/feedback throughout the completion of the activity. In addition, you will explore ways to consider the scholarship of teaching and learning with your updated discussion pedagogy.
  • Community Project: During these two days, you will work with CATL staff and attendees to develop a plan for ways to disseminate ideas, information, templates, resources, etc. with fellow UWL instructors. The products you wish to share will be created over the month of June, in partnership with the other participants.

Stipend

A $500 stipend will be awarded upon successful completion of the training, attendance at the additional training days, and project completion. Anticipated payment is early July 2024.
