Correspondence Exams
A page within Counseling & Testing
A correspondence exam is an exam that a person takes at UWL's Testing Center though they are registered for the course through another institution.
- We administer and proctor correspondence exams for various colleges and universities and then exams are mailed back to the originating institution following the exam.
- If the sponsoring school does not provide postage paid return envelopes, the student is responsible for covering the cost of returning test materials to their school.
- As an alternative, if your school permits, we will scan the completed exam and email it back to them as an attachment. Please check with your school to see if they allow this.
- Many schools now require a member of the National College Testing Association's Proctoring Network (NPN) to proctor their exams. We are an NCTA member. For more information: NCTA NPN
- Any test not taken within the time period determined by the credit granting institution is returned as requested by that institution.
- Test appointments are scheduled online in minimum 2 hour time blocks , Monday through Friday. Start times are 9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 2:00 pm.
- Each 2 hour block is $33.50.
To schedule a correspondence/proctored exam:
- Register online at www.registerblast.com/uwlax and pay the proctor fee.
- Once you have a confirmed registration, notify your school that UWL will be proctoring your exam and the exam needs to be sent to our testing center. The address is below.
- If your school requires a proctor consent form, contact our testing coordinator at cgilbert@uwlax.edu or call 608.785.8074.
- One week prior to your exam date, contact our testing coordinator at 608-785-8074 or cgilbert@uwlax.edu to confirm your exam has arrived. We do not notify you when tests arrive. You are responsible for confirming your test has arrived at our Testing Center.
- All online registrations are final and no refunds will be given. We will reschedule your exam once for free, but you must contact the test center in writing at least 24 hours before your scheduled exam appointment.
