Learn more about financial aid refund options
A page within Financial Aid
Financial aid is applied first to the student’s university bill.
If there are funds left over after the bill is paid in full, a financial aid refund is generated.
- All students receiving financial aid refunds must register with Nelnet.
- Log into the WINGS Student Center
- Go to the Finances section
- Click on "Student Choice Refund"
- Fill out the required information - Students are encouraged to set up direct deposit to their preferred bank account, as refunds issued as paper checks can take an additional two weeks to be processed and mailed. Paper checks will be mailed to the student's home address listed in Wings
It is important that students set up their refund preference to ensure their refund can be processed.
If a parent borrowed a Federal Parent PLUS loan on their student's behalf, they would have indicated on the Parent PLUS Loan application whether the student should receive any refund or if the refund should be processed as a paper check and mailed to the parent.
