NSLDS

A page within Financial Aid

What is NSLDS?

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's central database for student aid.  It receives data from schools, agencies that service loans, the Direct Loan program, and other U.S. Department of Education programs.  NSLDS provides a centralized, integrated view of federal loans and grants that are tracked through the entire cycle from aid approval through closure.

What information is available through NSLDS?

Students can use the website to make inquiries about their federal loans and/or grants.  The site displays information on loan and/or grant amounts, outstanding balances, loan statuses, and disbursements.  Information about the loan servicer for federal loans, including contact information, is also available.

What information is needed to access NSLDS?

In order to use NSLDS, students will need to log into studentaid.gov with their FSA ID username and password. After logging in, students should be able to see their home page the option to VIEW DETAILS; clicking on this link will allow the student to access their federal loan and/or grant information.
