Statement of Ethical Principles
The UW-La Crosse Financial Aid Office staff adhere to the Statement of Ethical Principles of NASFAA, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

I understand that by the virtue of my employment with this office at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, I may have access to students' records that contain individually identifiable information, the disclosure of which is prohibited by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). I acknowledge that I fully understand that the intentional disclosure by me of information other than that which is designated as "directory information", to any unauthorized person violates UWL's policy and could constitute just cause for disciplinary action including termination of my employment.
Directory Information
Release of information to a third party without consent of the student is limited to the following items only.
1- Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, dates of attendance, classification, school and/or college status, part-time/full-time, previous institution(s) attended. (Social Security No. is not directory information)
2- Past and present participation in officially recognized sports and activities, physical factors (height, weight, etc), date and place of birth.
3- Major field of study, awards, honors (includes Dean's List), degree(s) conferred, date(s) awarded. (Current class schedule is not directory information)
