Joining the healthcare industry is exciting. You can influence people's well-being and make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of their families. It is also a field that is growing much faster than the average for all occupations. Employment in healthcare occupations is projected to grow 13 percent from 2021 to 2031, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This strong demand includes healthcare business professionals.
UWL’s Healthcare Analytics Management program will prepare you to succeed in the business side of the healthcare industry. Regardless of your major, this academic minor will strengthen your healthcare skillset by teaching you how to collect data that is critical for healthcare decision making.
The minor includes 21 credits of healthcare and analytics courses (six credits from the major can be double counted). Upon completion this program, students will be able to:
- Solve healthcare problems through data-analysis
- Present research findings effectively to other decision-makers
- Execute business management practices (e.g., leadership, teamwork and quality improvement) within healthcare organizations
- Understand the U.S. Healthcare system
