At the end of each calendar year, eligible University Staff are given the opportunity to convert any unused annual vacation or vacation carryover to a banked leave account, receive a cash payout, or a combination of both. Once banked, hours carry forward each year and do not expire.

At the end of each calendar year, eligible University Staff are given the opportunity to convert any unused annual vacation or vacation carryover to a banked leave account, receive a cash payout, or a combination of both. Once banked, hours carry forward each year and do not expire.
For details on the specific option(s) available to you, please log in to the portal at https://my.wisconsin.edu. Click on the Time and Absence app, and then click on the ‘Timesheet’ button. On the Absence Balance tab of the Timesheet, your option(s) will be listed as ‘Banked Leave Conversion Eligibility’.
Conversion can be completed via Employee Self Service using these instructions: https://uwservice.wisconsin.edu/docs/publications/phit_leave_conversion.pdf.
Employee Self Service entry can only be completed between the dates of 12/1/2021-12/31/2021. To avoid conflict with your regular time entry, it is recommended you make your entry on a non-scheduled workday (typically Saturday or Sunday).
Banked Leave and cash payments will be processed based on your selected pay period entry effective date, in accordance with the Biweekly pay schedule found at: https://uwservice.wisconsin.edu/docs/publications/pay-uncl-bw-calendars-2021.pdf
The deadline for entry is December 31, 2021.
