Kindness at Work Reminder: Integrity

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness month.  During this time, employees and spouses in the Group Health Insurance Program (GHIP) are encouraged to learn how the Well Wisconsin well-being activities, Well Wisconsin Radio, and Kindness at Work can help with overall mental health and well-being.

Well-being Activities

Did you know that you have many well-being activity options available through Well Wisconsin?

  • Health coaching. Many participants work with their dedicated coach to focus on reducing stress or managing overwhelm and burnout.
  • Daily Habits. A tool available in the Well Wisconsin portal to help participants with things like coping with the blues, keeping stress in check, sleeping well, staying connected with others and combatting loneliness, balancing work and life, and more.

While the Stressless challenge is over, participants can still reap mental health and well-being benefits from participating in the current  Invitational challenge focusing on physical activity. The upcoming Five to Thrive challenge will focus on nutrition this summer.

Well Wisconsin Radio: Birds are Better than TikTok

Listen in to the latest episode where host Morgan Meinen interviews Matthew Reetz, Executive Director of the Madison Audubon. Morgan and Matthew will discuss why birds are awesome; the mental, physical, and ecosystem benefits of birds; and how folks can help birds’ habitats at home.

Check out the new Well Wisconsin Radio webpage or subscribe through Apple Podcasts, Spotify or Google Podcasts to be notified when new episodes are posted. GHIP subscribers and spouses can report listening to two episodes for well-being activity incentive credit.

Kindness at Work Reminder: Integrity

For the month of May, Random Acts of Kindness encourages everyone to focus on integrity. GHIP subscribers and their spouses who participate in at least 21 kindness, self-compassion, or well-being activities from the calendar can complete a short survey to receive an employer-sponsored activity code to count toward their well-being activity incentive credit.

Kindness Quote of the Month: “Choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over fast, fun or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than just professing them.” —Brené Brown
