As a University of Wisconsin System employee you are eligible for the UW Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) 403(b) Program - a voluntary supplemental retirement savings plan.

Saving for your retirement is important. As an employee of the UW System, you have been automatically enrolled in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), which provides a great pension plan to help prepare for retirement. However, most people will need additional savings to supplement this income in retirement. An extra savings cushion can help cover expenses in retirement such as healthcare. It may also provide resources so you can do the things you enjoy, like travel or pursue your favorite hobbies.

In the UW TSA 403(b) Program, you decide how much to save, which of the available investment options to elect, and whether to contribute on a pre-tax and/or Roth (after-tax) basis. You can start, change, or stop your deductions at any time. Resources are available to assist you on the TSA Program web page, including webinars and one-on-one counseling sessions with the TSA providers.

Enrollment is simple! Complete an EZ Enrollment and submit it to your human resources office. If you want to read more about the TSA Program, or enroll online, visit the UW TSA 403(b) Program enrollment section.

Important: Payroll changes coming
If you are currently paid monthly, you may want to consider electing a contribution that is a percentage of pay that will automatically adjust as your pay adjusts with the transition to the biweekly payroll. If you decide to elect a dollar amount, you may want to choose an amount you are comfortable being deducted from your biweekly paychecks once the change occurs. Review the Single Payroll web page for information on the payroll change.

It's never too early or too late to start saving. The UW TSA 403(b) Program can help you save for your retirement goals - get started today!
