We hope that your experiences abroad were not only amazing, but that you were able to gain valuable skills, insights, and knowledge about yourself and other world views. For many students, transitioning back to the U.S. can be a long and strenuous task. We hope the information below will assist you kick-start the process.

1. Gain Credit for the Experience

Did you complete all of your classes abroad?
- Any questions around transcripts and processing grades should be directed to your Education Abroad Advisor.
If your transcripts have been received and processed, did all of your courses transfer back correctly?
- We hope the answer is YES! Contact International Education & Engagement if they did not and we will work through it with you.
Have you met with your Academic Advisor to make sure that you are still on-track for graduation?
- We, again, hope the answer is YES!

2. Get Involved with International Education & Engagement

How do I get involved with more international students? Other education abroad alumni?
- Students can participate in programs or volunteer with International Education & Engagement. To see the program options and sign up, contact IEE at international@uwlax.edu or visit our Events Page. The Global Buddy program is also an exciting option that pairs domestic and international students to create global friendships at UWL.
What can I do to make people more aware of my program or education abroad opportunities?
- Participate in the Education Abroad Fair and represent the program you participate in.
- Write a program review so others know just how great your experience and program was.
How do I keep in touch with my program or the education abroad office?
- IEE loves hearing about your experience abroad, whether through a blog, video, photos, and so on. Share them with us on Twitter (@UWLIEE) or Facebook. Another great way to share you photos is through IEE's annual photo contest, which takes place every spring.
