Academic Search Complete (EBSCOhost) This is a scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 7,000 full-text periodicals, and nearly 6,000 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 11,000 journals and a total of more than 11,600 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. for a variety of disciplines. Environment Complete (EBSCOhost) This databases includes articles from nearly 2,000 domestic and international journals on environmental studies as related to agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy use and renewable energy, natural resources, marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, urban planning, and more. Hospitality & Tourism Complete (EBSCOhost) This database includes scholarly research and industry news relating to all areas of hospitality and tourism. The collection contains more than 828,000 records, with full text for more than 480 publications, including periodicals, company & country reports, and books. Sources are both domestic and international in range and scope, with material collected from countries and regions such as Canada, Australia, Europe and Asia. LGBT Life with Full Text (EBSCOhost) This database includes citations and abstracts as well as some full text for articles, books, and reference works on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issues. LGBT Life was created with the assistance of the One National Gay & Lesbian Archives. The Lesbian Herstory Archives of the Lesbian Herstory Education Foundation also helped with content development. Full text is included for Classics in Lesbian Studies, Gay Science: The Ethics of Sexual Orientation Research, Handbook of Research with Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Populations, Queer Theory & Social Change, etc. Also included is a specialized LGBT Thesaurus containing over 6,400 terms. Additionally, all relevant bibliographic data from NISC's Sexual Diversity Studies is also included. MEDLINE with Full Text (EBSCOhost) (Note: Previously we had MEDLINE, but MEDLINE does not include full text.) Essentially equivalent to PubMed from the National Library of Medicine, U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services, but with full text for select journals. Authoritative information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Over 4,800 current biomedical journals are indexed; full text for 1,470 journals. Uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). Incorporates PREMEDLINE, OLDMEDLINE, AIDSLINE & more. Points of View Reference Center (EBSCOhost) This is a full-text database that includes essays covering multiple sides of a current issue. 250 topics are included, each with an overview (objective background/description), point (argument),counterpoint (opposing argument), and Critical Thinking Guide. Select topics: affirmative action, cloning, DNA profiling, HIV/AIDS status disclosure, immigration, Iraq, Israel & the Palestinians, Katrina and FEMA response, nuclear proliferation, separation of church and state, standardized testing, stem cell research, tax cuts, voting machines, and many more. In addition to essays, articles from political magazines different points of view, newspapers, radio & TV news transcripts, primary source documents and reference books are included. Political Science Complete (EBSCOhost) This database contains full text for over 400 journals, and cover-to-cover citations and abstracts for more than 800 journals. The database has a worldwide focus and features more than 180 full-text reference books and monographs, and over 27,000 full-text conference papers, including those of the International Political Science Association. PSC includes a subject-specific thesaurus with 10,453 terms. SocINDEX with Full Text (EBSCOhost) SocINDEX with Full Text contains full text for 777 journals and includes full text for more than 820 books and monographs, full text for 13,947 conference papers, and profiles for 25,000 scholars in the field. Topics covered include abortion, criminology & criminal justice, demography, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, marriage & family, political sociology, religion, rural & urban sociology, social development, social psychology, social structure, social work, socio-cultural anthropology, sociological history, sociological research, sociological theory, substance abuse & other addictions, violence and many others.
