Pictured (L to R) are Jim Theler, Matt G. Hill and Terry Martin. Matt was one of Jim's students at UWL, even before there was an Archaeology major; Matt nominated Jim for the MAC award. Terry Martin was one of the many faunal analysts that have collaborated with Jim over the decades.
The 2016 Midwest Archaeological Conference (MAC) was held in Iowa City, IA, this October 6-8. Archaeologists from throughout the Midwest gathered to discuss current research, and share some good stories. Jim has retired from teaching, but continues active research with MVAC.
Zachary Allain presented a poster on some projectile points from Cahokia.
Andrew Anklam, presented a paper on LiDAR in northern forests.
Jaelyn Roland presented a paper on ceramics from La Crosse and southeastern Minnesota.
