Stove parts This concentration of cast iron stove parts was found--and found again--on bare ground next to a large stump at a site in Oneida County, Wisconsin. The concentration was first observed in 1993 and left in place. When the site was revisited in 1998, the stove parts were relocated, and more historic artifacts came to light. Two iron files, a large iron chain link, and some burned rock were clustered nearby. The visible stove parts were examined closely in 1998, but no makers’ marks or model names were found. The historic artifacts altogether covered an area of 8 x 4 meters (about 26 x 13 feet). They appeared to date to the late 1800s and relate to the logging industry. The stove parts still graced the ground on a follow-up visit in 2015.
