Midway Village – Quarry Edge Excavation

Excavation Volunteers, Earthwatch participants and university field school students all worked in the tremendous heat during the 1988 rescue excavations at Midway Village.  Excavation took place prior to the expansion of the quarry pit located north of La Crosse, Wisconsin.  Left: quarry pit, Right: participants excavating at the edge of the quarry.
