The trip was a joint effort with the Kutztown University Frederick Douglass Institute, the National Parks System (at the Minuteman Missile National Part in South Dakota) and two groups from the Junior ROTC in Omaha, Nebraska.

2019 top teachers Posted 12:27 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2019 Eagle teaching excellence award winners announced. Read more about 2019 top teachers UWL leaders including Bob Hetzel, UWL vice chancellor for Administration and Finance, led a tour through UWL’s deteriorating, 1960s-era science building Tuesday. Rooms in Cowley Hall such as this lecture hall were originally constructed for a more passive style of learning through lecturing and are not conducive to today’s active learning classrooms where students learn by doing. Sen. Jennifer Shilling and UW System President Ray Cross, behind Hetzel, were among the community and business leaders present to urge support for Phase II of the Prairie Springs Science Center, which would replace the outdated facility.
