Veterans receive special recognition at commencement Posted 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 UW-L veteran graduate Michael Bahr says he did a lot of growing up in the military. “I realized I didn’t want to settle," he says. "I wanted to be more ambitious and try to achieve greater things in life.” Greater things for Bahr meant earning a four-year degree and finding a career he cared about. Alumni Association welcomes new staff member Posted 10:19 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 The UW-L Alumni Association is expanding its staff to reach out to students — future alumni. The Alumni Association has hired Alumni Engagement Coordinator Emma Sutkay who will start Monday, Jan. 5. Read more about Alumni Association welcomes new staff member Cindi Bottelberghe, ’09, of Milwaukee, pictured right, started on the road to mixed martial arts by joining a kick boxing class at a gym in San Diego in 2011. Bottelberge compares her training to studying in college. “The more you work, the better you get,” she says.
