Activist to explore gender, immigration at UW-La Crosse

Gender and immigration activist Kaying Yang speaks at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at UW-La Crosse.

She will give a presentation at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition. Yang is a cofounder of the National Asian and Pacific American Women’s Forum, and the Asian and Pacific Islander Scholarship Fund. The International Organization of Migration in Thailand recruited her to help 15,000 Hmong and Korean refugees resettle in other countries. She was also executive director of the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center in Washington, D.C. Yang’s talk is part of the Campus Activities Board Series.
