Maroon and proud
Faculty and staff across campus took the opportunity to LIVEMAROON Friday, March 30, in conjunction with Jeans Day. Office staff from Budget and Finance, photo left, showed their pride wearing their “LIVEMAROON” T-shirts. Lisa Caya, a senior lecturer in the Psychology Department, right, added nostalgia to her maroon attire by wearing the UW-L sweatshirt she purchased from the University Bookstore when she came to campus as freshman Lisa Wakeen in fall 1987. “It was the first UW-L sweatshirt that I bought and I proudly wore it across campus,” Caya, ’91, recalls. The La Crosse native returned to campus in 2001 after doctoral studies at Auburn University and the University of Texas. She coordinates the Child Youth Care Program in the department. You can win a T-shirt at the next LIVEMAROON Get-Together in May.![PostersRotundaW Students with Chancellor Joe Gow.](/contentassets/d2492d337f8a4841b98d59100cb0f8ab/imported-from-wordpress2/postersrotundaw.jpg)

Student Center questions answered online
• Cartwright Center looks fine. Why are we looking to replace the building? • Where would the new student center be located? • Is it true that if Cartwright is repaired, it would be closed for up to two years? These are just three of the questions answered on a Frequently-Asked-Questions Web page developed to provide information about the university’s student center. Students will vote April 10 on whether to repair Cartwright Center or to replace the 50-year-old building that has issues with plumbing, heating, air conditioning, accessibility, safety codes, a leaking roof, and flooding issues after downpours. Visit www.uwlax.edu/studentcenter/faq.htm for more information about the options.Events to raise awareness about sexual violence prevention slated for April
