High Deductible Health Plans informational sessions

The changes in state employee health insurances mean that managing healthcare expenses may be one of your top priorities. Increasingly common, high deductible health plans (HDHPs) are characterized by lower premiums and higher deductibles. If you are interested in learning more about how the It’s Your Choice (IYC) HDHP plan works, how it is different from the IYC plan, whether enrolling in a HDHP makes sense to your family, and about health savings accounts (HSA), join Beth Hill, Assistant Director of Payroll and Benefits, for an informational session scheduled:
  • 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 102 Wing Technology Center, will be viewable as a webinar and recorded for future viewing
  • 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 332 Cartwright Center
  • 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 332 Cartwright Center

Flexible Spending Account informational sessions

The IRS allows participants to contribute to flexible spending accounts or FSA through payroll deductions taken out on a pre-tax basis. The money is deducted from your pay before federal and state income taxes and Social Security have been withheld, resulting in lowered taxable income and a reduction in taxes. There are two types of FSAs – one is for health care-related expenses and the other is for dependent care-related expenses. If you are interested in learning more about this tax-savings benefit, join Beth Hill, Assistant Director of Payroll and Benefits, for an informational session scheduled:
  • 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 102 Wing Technology Center, will be viewable as a webinar and recorded for future viewing
  • 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 332 Cartwright Center
  • 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 337 Cartwright Center
