UWL hosts Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creativity April 26

celebration-headerUWL student researchers are digging into the antiviral effects of Highbush cranberry extracts and the gender differences in the achilles tendons of runners. These research projects and more will be presented during UWL’s Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creativity Tuesday, April 26. More than 150 students will present either oral or poster presentations on Tuesday, April 26, in Cartwright Center.   • Oral presentations run from 8:30 a.m.-12:10 p.m. on the third floor of Cartwright Center.
  • Poster presentations run from 9-10:45 a.m. and from 11:10 a.m.-12:55 p.m., in Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition.
April is a busy time for undergraduate research at UWL. A total of 18 students attended the National Conference on Undergraduate Research April 7-9, at University of North Carolina Asheville. Seven students attended the 13th Annual Posters in the Rotunda, Wednesday, April 13, in Madison’s capitol rotunda. And 19 students will go to the 15th Annual UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Friday, April 22, at UW-Stevens Point. UW-La Crosse is one of only 23 colleges nationwide recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Rankings (2016) for stellar undergraduate research and creative projects. U.S.News listed UWL No. 1 in Wisconsin and No. 4 in the Midwest among regional universities.
