International seal of approval given for 5 years
The UW-La Crosse College of Business Administration has once again received an international seal of approval. The college has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. The official announcement will be made Thursday, April 19, when the AACSB releases its full list of reaccredited and accredited programs around the globe. An AACSB Peer Review Team visited campus in February. CBA Dean Laura Milner says it is key that the college goes through the rigorous external review process. “AACSB-accredited schools have the highest quality faculty and maintain a student focus by providing relevant and challenging curriculums in order to provide educational and career opportunities that are not found at other business schools.” Milner says. “Quite simply, AACSB-accredited business schools provide the best in business education worldwide.” Milner says it is important for the college to continue with the moniker of being a top business school internationally. “The re-accreditation affirms that the college is continuously improving its academic programs,” she notes. The CBA has more than 2,000 undergraduate students with a highly qualified instructional staff of 68. The college maintains a local and global mindset with active collaborations within the region, as well as internationally. “The college is very proud of its diversity with faculty representing five continents,” says Milner. In 2013, the CBA also earned the Council for Higher Education Accreditation Award for Outstanding Institutional Practice in Student Learning Outcomes, which recognized the college for its use of outcomes assessment to improve student learning in its undergraduate program. The re-accreditation is valid for five years until another AACSB peer review panel returns in 2021-22 to re-evaluate the college. The UWL CBA has been accredited since 1982.
