Renewed accreditation underscores strength, stature of CBA
The UWL College of Business Administration has extended its global accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business — a signifier of the highest standards in business education.
The CBA’s extended accreditation follows a years-long process completed in coordination with the AACSB.
"This reaccreditation is an incredibly gratifying affirmation of the great work of our faculty and students," says Dean TJ Brooks, noting that just 6% of business schools worldwide hold this accredidation. "The five-year review period includes the pandemic. Yet, despite the massive upheaval, our faculty continued to produce impactful business research and maintain their teaching qualifications — all while switching to a new teaching modality, and then switching back."
The process included internal evaluation, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-reviewed evaluation — with a focus on achieving and maintaining excellence in areas related to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.
Accredited institutions participate in a five-year continuous improvement peer review to maintain high quality and extend their accreditation.
As this work continues over the next five years, students and families can be assured of receiving a top-tier business education at UWL.
“Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development and student learning,” says Stephanie M. Bryant, global executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”
