UWL students serve as personal trainers for community members.

After going through some physical therapy, Danette Tritch was looking for a way to kick-start her fitness. She found it, courtesy of a UWL exercise and sport science (ESS) class. Tritch worked out with the guidance of Kylie Katers and Taylor Bauer, both ESS students. “It’s great to be involved in a university program and give students an opportunity to have a client that fits their needs,” says Tritch. https://youtu.be/Couff4pFyVg In the class, students pair up and work with a community member for a seven-week program. They develop an exercise plan based on what the client wants to improve and adapt it every week. “I really enjoyed this whole experience,” says Bauer.
