Women's Golf … has been added as the 20th varsity sport on campus — the 11th for women. Competition starts in fall 2018 under head coach David Taebel. Get details. Women's Basketball … finished 16-10, 9-5 in the WIAC ... advanced to the WIAC championships semifinals for the second straight year — the highest seed (second) in school history ... Elise DeNoyer named WIAC Player of the Year ... DeNoyer named to D3hoops.com All-Central Region First Team ... three players earn all-conference honors. Men's Basketball … finished 13-13 overall ... earned a WIAC championship bid for the eighth time in the last nine seasons ... Ben Meinholz named to All-WIAC First Team ... three all-conference selections ... Kent Dernbach named head coach March 12 after serving as interim head coach in 2017-18. Women's Swimming & Diving … tied for 29th at the NCAA Division III championships … Kayley Alioto placed fourth in the three-meter diving competition and 14th in the one-meter at the championships. Her fourth-place finish is the highest in UWL history in the three-meter competition at the NCAA Division III Championships. Keri Buran (1993) and Alioto (2017) each finished sixth in the three-meter at the national championships … The team won its seventh straight WIAC title .... Alioto was named WIAC Diver of the Meet for the second straight season ... won six individual and one relay title at conference ... earned 27 all-conference honors. Men's Swimming & Diving … finished 43rd at the NCAA Division III national championships … third at WIAC championships ... Jacob Burchfield was named the WIAC Men's Swimmer of the Meet ... first UWL swimmer to earn award since 2010 ... team earned 17 all-conference honors at league championships. Wesley Schultz, Sawyer Massie and Konrad Ernst earned All-America honors ... qualified five wrestlers for national championships ... placed second at NCAA III Upper Midwest Regional ... Dave Malecek named Upper Midwest Regional Co-Coach of the Year ... won WIAC title with four individual champions ... coaching staff earned the WIAC Staff of the Year Award ... Sawyer Massie named WIAC Wrestler of the Meet ... Sean O'Neil named WIAC Scholar-Athlete. Women's Indoor Track & Field … finished 26th at NCAA III championships ... Betsy Schreier, Tess Miller and Maddie Nelson earned All-America honors in triple jump ... won WIAC title for the sixth straight season ... Nick Davis named WIAC Coach of the Year ... Amanda Wiebke named WIAC Co-Field Performer of the Meet ... team won four titles at conference championships, had seven second-place finish and five third-place finishes. Men's Indoor Track & Field … fifth at NCAA III championships ... hasn’t finished lower than fifth at the NCAA III indoor championships since 1985 ... Andrew Jarrett, Christian Morzsinki, Jacob Teunas, Wes Evansen, Thomas Schultz and Ernest Winters earned All-America honors ... Jarrett won national title in weight throw, the first in school history since 2006 ... team won 17th straight WIAC indoor title ... Josh Buchholtz named WIAC Coach of the Year ... team won three titles, had six second-place and five third-place finishes ... Buchholtz received the 2018 Award of Merit at the Wisconsin Track Coaches Association Coaches Clinic Feb. 3. [caption id="attachment_7790" align="alignnone" width="685"] Samantha Wiekamp.[/caption] Gymnastics … finished second at NCGA championships … Dani Barmore captured the NCGA title on the vault (9.825) and Sam Weyker took the balance beam (9.825) crown … Samantha Wiekamp  named 2018 NCGA Senior Athlete of the Year … team won league-record 24th WIAC title ... automatically qualified for NCGA championships ... Samantha Wiekamp won the all-around title and Brooke Kachinsky the uneven parallel bars at the WIAC championships ... team earned 11 all-conference honors at league championships ... Amy Enright named WIAC Scholar-Athlete. Men's Tennis … team is 11-4 ... Bill Hehli earned 300th career win in February Women's Tennis … team is 12-3 overall, including 5-1 in the winter season ... Coach Hehli is currently 663-288 with women's and men's tennis teams.
