Open auditions for UWL's SummerStage 2018 set.

Open auditions for UWL's SummerStage 2018 set

"Hair: The American Tribal-Love Rock Musical" will let the sunshine in this summer at the UW-La Crosse Toland Theatre.

Open auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 23, with callbacks at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 25. Auditioners should prepare 32 bars of a song similar in style to the show. An accompanist will be provided. Auditions and callbacks will be held in the Frederick Theatre in UWL's Morris Hall, 1615 State St.

The Tony Award-winning musical "Hair" brings to life a “tribe” of politically active, bohemian hippies in New York City protesting against the Vietnam War. The tribe struggles to balance their young lives, loves and the sexual revolution with their pacifist rebellion against the war and the conservative impulses of their parents and society.  Through rock songs like "Aquarius," "I Believe in Love" and "Hair,"  rise up and let the light in, too!

Evening rehearsals are tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, May 2,1 with performances June 22-24 and June 28-July 1.
