Holmen native and UWL alum returning for clinic, concert

Brian Zannotti will lead a Drum Set Clinic and give a concert with the Symphonic Band.

A Holmen native and UW-La Crosse graduate who is a percussionist based in Austin, Texas, will return to his alma mater for a class presentation and performance with the university’s Symphonic Band. Bryan Zannotti has played with an extensive list of bands including Lee Ann Womack, Randy Rogers, Kevin Fowler, Bart Crow, Curtis Grimes, Bri Bagwell, Breelan Angel, Aaron Einhouse, The Rankin Twins, Carter Beckworth, Vitera and Jenna McDaniel. His approach to the drum set allows him to play with diverse groups of musicians. He is currently touring with Wade Bowen. Zannotti will lead a Drum Set Clinic at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in 58 Center for the Arts. The clinic is free and open to the public. A Symphonic Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, in Annett Recital Hall, Center for the Arts, will feature Zannotti performing “Concerto for Drum Set and Concert Band.” The concert will include band pieces composed by James Curnow, Jay Bocook, Steven Bryant, Brian Balmages and Henry Fillmore. Admission is free. The Symphonic Band is directed by UWL Associate Professor of Music Tammy Fisher. The ensemble is a non-auditioned concert band comprised of students representing various academic disciplines across campus.
