Screaming Eagles to host nearly 500 high school students

High school students from three states will take part in the UW-La Crosse Screaming Eagles Marching Band 7th annual High School Band Day Saturday, Sept. 23. Up to 500 musicians, color guard and twirlers from 10 local high schools will join the Screaming Eagles Marching Band at Veterans Memorial Stadium Field Sports Complex. High schools participating include: Bangor, Central, G-E-T, Holmen, La Crescent, Logan, Onalaska and Tomah from Wisconsin; Jesup High School from Iowa; and Glenville-Emmons Public Schools from Minnesota. The high school bands will join the Screaming Eagles to perform the Star Spangled Banner during the pre-game performance. At halftime, the combined musicians will perform the music of Metallica, Daft Punk and Pitbull. The Screaming Eagles will also perform their field show at halftime featuring the music of Queen and Led Zeppelin. The pre-game show will begin at 2:35 p.m. followed by kick off at 3. The Eagles will play Carroll University. Ticket information is available at 608.785.8616.
