The Gertrude Salzer Gordon Jazz in the Park Concert Series with the La Crosse Jazz Orchestra continues Friday, July 13, on King St. between Front and 2nd streets in front of the Pump House with the Krazy Daze Dance Party!
Lessons with members of the Moonlight Dance Studio or on tap for free instruction at 6 p.m. at the concert site. The band kicks in at 7 p.m. with great ballroom and modern dance classics.
Selections include Glenn Miller's "Moonlight Serenade" and "In the Mood" as well as Huey Lewis (and the News) "The Heart of Rock and Roll" and "Slammin'." The band will also perform Viennese Waltzes, Rock and Roll, Polkas, Cha Chas, Salsa and a Tango. Guest vocalist Kim Shively will hold forth with "Taking a Chance on Love," "L-O-V-E" and several more.
The concert is free. Bring a chair!
