April 30 through May 1 the city of La Crosse will be invaded by collegiate lacrosse players as the University Wisconsin-La Crosse plays host to the Great Lakes Lacrosse League Conference Tournament (GLLL). The Conference Tournament will bring 24 of the GLLL’s 33 teams to UW-L with over 500 lacrosse players participating. Matches will begin with a full slate on Saturday at 10 a.m. and run through the night with matches finishing at 11p.m. Final round games will be played Sunday starting at 11 a.m. All matches will be played on the UW-L campus. See the website for more details. League play consists of many mini-tournaments per season where teams get exposure to many other teams at one site. Each team's season schedule consists of about eight games over a time span of five weekends in the spring. Teams are seeded for the conference tournament by their regional ranking. The top two teams from each region compete for the conference title while the remaining teams participate in the consolation bracket. Spectators and fans are encouraged and welcome for all matches with free admittance. More information on the GLLL Conference Tournament can be found at UW-L Recreations Sports website. Join the excitement!
