Reichert phases into new role ahead of retirement; Ziegelman named interim Foundation president
Interim Chancellor Betsy Morgan shared the following message with staff and faculty Tuesday, April 23.
Greg Reichert has announced that he will be stepping down as the vice chancellor for Advancement and the UWL Foundation president effective July 5, 2024. Greg will serve in the capacity of the assistant vice chancellor for Marketing and Communication reporting to Chancellor Beeby, located in 131 Graff Main Hall, and overseeing UComm until his retirement on July 3, 2025. Greg has shared that his health is the major reason and that the family hopes to eventually relocate to Nebraska to be closer to family.
After consultation with Chancellor Beeby and the Foundation Board’s chair and Executive Committee, Allison Ziegelman has been named interim vice chancellor for Advancement and Foundation president for one year. Chancellor Beeby will preside over any permanent arrangements.
My sincere appreciation to Greg for his 14-year commitment to UWL. Of particular note is his leadership in the alignment of the Foundation with the Alumni Association, which has resulted in a stronger organization. He is also known for transparent fiscal management and a noted increase in scholarship support for students. On a more personal note, I will miss his ability to keep the other members of the Chancellor's Cabinet in check regarding national and local athletic events!
