UWL friends to gather at Moon Tunes Sept. 1
Music and maroon will be the mix for La Crosse’s Moon Tunes spotlighting UW-La Crosse Thursday, Sept. 1.
The UWL Screaming Eagles will kick off the music at 5:30 p.m., followed by Cody & The Ghosts. Moon Tunes concerts in La Crosse’s Riverside Park are free and open to all.
“The gathering was very well received, and we heard comments from other alums who loved the idea and wanted to be included,” says Morgan. “When we saw that the Screaming Eagles were performing this year, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show our UWL pride.”
Anyone with a connection to the university is encouraged to wear maroon and visit the UWL tent. The tent, located on the west side of the park along the sidewalk, will serve as a welcoming spot from 5:30-8 p.m. for UWL alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and community members.
The tent will have giveaways, games and treats while supplies last. Swag will include special edition UWL at Moon Tunes koozies available for the first 300 people.
“We encourage our alumni, faculty, staff and students to wear UWL gear, stop by our tent, say hello, play a game and pick up some UWL swag,” says Morgan. “We hope to see a sea of maroon at the park.”
UWL Night at Moon Tunes is sponsored by the following UWL organizations and departments: Alumni Association, Admissions, Athletics, Community Engagement, UWL Foundation, Music Department and Graduate & Extended Learning.
