The university holds its 45th annual Mid-year Commencement Sunday, Dec. 20. A total of 691 students are expected to graduate, including 488 receiving undergraduate degrees and 203 receiving graduate degrees.
Three ceremonies are planned for Mitchell Hall Gymnasium. The ceremonies include:
11 a.m. College of Science and Health — All graduate and undergraduate students in the college (includes teacher education candidates in early adolescence-adolescence with majors in biology, broadfield science, chemistry, computer science, math, physics, physical education and school health).
1:30 p.m. College of Business Administration — All graduate and undergraduate students in the college.
3:30 p.m. College of Liberal Studies — All graduate and undergraduate students in the college (includes teacher education candidates in early childhood-middle childhood, middle childhood-early adolescence, early childhood-adolescence with majors in art, French, German, music and Spanish and early adolescence- adolescence with majors in broadfield social studies and English. Also includes Master of Education-Professional Development Learning Community master's degree candidates).

All graduation ceremonies are also cablecast live on Charter Cable Channel 989, as well as on Channel 96 in La Crosse. The UW-L Cable TV channel is available to Charter subscribers in La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, Oakdale, Tomah, Warrens, Black River Falls, Melrose, Mindoro, Sparta, Rockland, Bangor, Barre Mills, St. Joseph's Ridge and West Salem, as well as in La Crescent, Winona, Stockton, Lewiston and Rollingstone, Minn. Graduation ceremonies also are live available on Channel 6 on UW-L campus cable TV in classrooms and residence halls.
