Middle school students from the area presented diverse projects at this year's Expo.

Nearly 200 middle school students from Black River Falls, Cashton, La Crescent, La Crosse and Onalaska presented posters at the Science and Math Expo in Mitchell Hall Tuesday, May 10.
Gundersen Medical Foundation started the expo 24 years ago, with UWL joining last year. This year’s diverse projects included the study of USB charger speed, how certain activities affect Sudoku puzzle completion times, the impact kinetic energy has on determining how a Hot Wheels car can perform on a jump, and what type of foot massage will make a ballet dancer’s feet more flexible.
In addition to the middle schools, 60 volunteers from the campus and community helped judge the posters presented. Campus organizers for this year’s event included:
