The presentation is geared toward students interested in athletic training and athletic trainers, however, all are welcome.
A reception will be in the same room immediately following the presentation.
Albohm, of Santa Fe, N.M., is a North American Manager at Ossur, a global company in non-invasive orthopedics. She is responsible for Ossur Orthopedic Educational Programs. She became president of the NATA in 2008, making her the second female president of the association.
When Albohm started as an athletic trainer in the 1970s, she was not allowed to work on the sidelines at football games because officials at the game did not want her present during a male dominated sport. So she could only provide athletic training during practice.
“She has been a groundbreaker her entire career,” said Mark Gibson, director of UW-L’s Athletic Training Program. “She is a sought-after speaker and her motivational messages inspire those in the profession toward a brighter future.”
