Area veterans joined the campus community for the annual 12th-annual Veterans Day Breakfast at UWL. Organized by the UWL Athletics Department and Freedom Honor Flight, the event offers student-athletes a chance to give back to those who have served our country.

The UWL Fieldhouse was recently dedicated to Bob Hetzel, who retired this summer after 17 years of distinguished service as vice chancellor for Administration & Finance. Hetzel is giving back by making the largest gift in school history — $2.5 million to support scholarships and athletic programming.

Caitlin Herminath (center), a senior majoring in mathematics education, is one of a handful of students who have benefitted from UWL's new Math Education Teaching Assistant Program. On Nov. 15, the campus community came together to honor the memory of Charlie "Bubba" Lonning Weber, the son of head women's basketbll Coach Moran Lonning. UWL defeated Bethel 73-57, and all proceeds from the event were donated to Rising Athletes, a local organization supporting youth athletes.
