UWL Police conduct active shooter training.

UWL Police Officers are taking full advantage of a near-empty campus while students are away on spring break. For three days this week, they’re conducting a variety of training inside campus buildings, including active shooter training. The department started organizing the training three months ago and saw a reminder of its significance this week when UW-Platteville dealt with reports of a man with a gun in a campus building. No one was injured or arrested and classes were cancelled that afternoon. “It has made it much more important that our officers are prepared to respond,” says UWL Police Chief Scott McCullough. McCullough says students should “be alert, be calm and call if they see anything suspicious.
